I'm trying to figure out what my next move should be. My current setup is a i7 3770k with 8GB ddr3 and 2xGTX760 2GB in SLI

My current price range is < 200USD (I may buy a second card for CF/SLI a bit later keep in mind) and I'd prefer to keep around 150 as closely as possible. My current thoughts on what I should look at are:

GTX 1050 Ti

GTX 1060 3GB

AMD 560-580

or Just Wait Until Vega Drops Price Next Year

I'm on a rather fixed income (disabled) so keep in mind that my price range is rather inflexible and spending less through used cards is more than likely what I want to do.

for around $200 you could pick up a used R9 Fury, if you cant find that then a used 980 is another good pick for that price. its as good as the 1060 6GB

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

I'd like to try to stay within 1 generation of current for a little padding on future-proofing time, especially since I will eventually want to buy a Vive and 980 can't really run VR.

And I don't know where you're looking, but I can't find an r9 fury under 300 outside of a couple exceptions and 200 is an absolute uncrossable upper limit

Saw a Fury for $150 yesterday, but I'm in Sweden. And a 980 does VR just fine.

ah, dang. I think we have more crypto miners here in the US driving up prices (which suuuuuucks) and if a 970 or 980 can do VR just fine... I might want to get me a 980 if I can afford any of the available deals, otherwise I'll grab a 970 and wait out the price heap until I can get me a 1070. I was hoping the RX 480 would have better prices than anything else in the 10 series since Luke kept saying the reference card was 200 bucks, but it looks like (again) nobody is taking that MSRP seriously anymore.

Thanks for the info!

The 480 is like the main mining card, there is no way to get it for a decent price unit Etherium dies

Just finding out that you can't SLI 1050 or 1060... that's kinda crap for people who want to do gradual increases rather than dropping more money than I make in a month all at once.

Have you tried applying for PayPal credit? They have a plan for any purchase over $100 where there is no interest and no minimum payments for 6 months. It's great for people who are on a lower or fixed income.

I always get denied by any financing because I have insufficient credit history. I've never gotten a credit card because of this, it's extremely infuriating.

I PAY BILLS, IS THAT NOT ENOUGH!?
