Sup veterans, newfag here. Was installing a 120mm case fan on my side panel when I unplugged a few things (yes, I plugged them back in after) from the motherboard in order to access my 3 pin connector. There was a little blue cover that covered only 2 of the pins on the 3 pin connector that I removed.

The things circled in purple are stuff I unplugged to make it easier getting to that 3 pin, and in blue is the 3 pin. The only things even know what is called that I unplugged was my GTX 950 SSC and two Sata cables.

Once I plugged in my fan and plugged everything back in and turned on the pc, I was greeted with the screen that you get when you don't have an operating system installed, and a fan that didn't spin.

I unplugged the fan and tossed it aside, then rebooted my pc making sure in the bios I still had a HDD. It started up fine and after 10 minutes of watching summit1g my pc completely shut off and has been dead since.

If it helps, whenever I'm connected to power the little green light on my motherboard lights up. I don't know if that means my power supply isn't messed up or it's a default.

Here are some basic specs of my pc if it helps,

Motherboard: ASUS P8H61-M PRO CM6630-8 motherboard DDR3 H61 Intel LGA1155 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0

CPU: i5-3350p

PSU: EVGA 650w

GPU: EVGA GTX 950 SSC 2GB

By the sounds of it you unplugged the CMOS clear jumper. that has to go in as it was, covering pins 3&4

The one circled in Blue or one of them circled in purple? Bc the one circled in blue was only 3 pins and the blue cover was 2 pins

It lireally should be 3 pins like:

then atm it should be like

\ \ |

(where \ = covered)

so it should be

| \ \

I have no idea what purple circle you're talking about so here is another pic with all different colors. And how do I check if my USB is plugged into 3.0 or 2.0 port?

Upon  further inspection, the newly colored green plug leads to the power button. (Hopefully that's what you were asking)

Switching the sata plugs did nothing

is the 20 pin psu cable firmly seated with no loose wires???

another thing could be watch cell battery maybe dead/not able get to minimum power throughput

note your ram controller wants 1.5vdc

watchbattery is 1.5vdc

so any less than 1.5vdc then ram no work,,,,

Every cable is plugged in as tight a fit as possible. But that watch cell battery thing completely flew over my head and I have no idea what you're talking about

watch batteries are the flat silver button batteries

Very interesting. I would've assumed that my motherboard wasn't the problem because power was getting to it as I could see by the green light turning on.

The thing is, if I have to replace my motherboard, I have to replace my ram, CPU, and my case as well. Seeing as I have a ddr3 motherboard and a lga1155 socket. Both of which are nearly extinct.
