RetroPie on Kuman 3.5" screen

Hello,

 

I have a Raspberry Pi 3 model B with a Kuman 3.5" screen that plugs into the gpio of the Pi. Raspian works fine (although a special version from the distributors is needed) , but RetroPie doesn't work. 

 

Does anyone know how to get RetroPie to work well on this screen?

3.5-inch screen won't work with the latest version of retropi, use an HDMI screen.
