Hi,

I have a Gigabyte Z97 HD3 Rev. 2 motherboard. I could access the bios before; there I set the initial display output to be the on board graphics. The HDMI cable is now plugged into the motherboard. When I try to boot the system with the cable in the motherboard, it does not output anything on the display. I have 2 GPUs. When I plug it into a 960, it skips the bios screen and only outputs the login screen of windows 10. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I would not prefer resetting CMOS battery.

It's quite possible that when using your main GPU it isn't REALLY skipping the option to go into the BIOS but rather running by it fairly quickly.  I've had my share of Gigabytes where I had to reboot several times while spamming the DEL key until I could make it within the narrow window.

Hm so I may have to try spamming it faster lol but it never used to go through the bios so fast and also I set on board graphics to be the initial display output.

I also suggest tapping it, not just holding it.  I found that holding the key often yeilds no results, as if it wasn't pressed at all.

But to my knowledge no mobo does NOT allow the user to enter the BIOS.  But some run by that window super fast.

I spam it so I guess its either the narrow window or something else

Do you have a Free sync monitor? Cause some freesync monitors don't display the bios for some reason when the option is activated in the monitor.

It says neither free sync or g sync on newegg specs; i have an asus vs247

My mechanical keyboard will not allow me to access bios. I have to temporarily plug in a pos keyboard for that. Have you recently changed keyboards?

You probably have to enable legacy USB Mode in the UEFI

If Windows 8/10 is installed in UEFI mode you could have entered the UEFI via holding shift and clicking on restart .After that Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings > Restart and it boots to UEFI

My Sabertooth X58 doesn't have UEFI, and it works fine with a different USB keyboard.
