BIOS update?

I own  Acer E5 575G. Is it worth to upgrade BIOS? And whats the safest way to upgrade BIOS?

Unless you really need to update your bios then don't, its too risky.

bios flashing rule of thumb, dont fix it if it aint broken

 

if you do have a reason to do it, safest way is from a USB stick using the flash software in your UEFI, i never trusted doing it from windows, like how dell machines can

i turned a Dell Precision 3510 into a £2000 paperweight by flashing from windows, fuck that, never again lol.

If you open BIOS updates and scroll down, there is an update with title "Improve system performance".

Does that means if in anyway I flash a BIOS update and my laptop`s firmware gets bricked, I can not claim warranty?

well yeah there may be more recent versions available, but you only really need to update your BIOS if you have a specific problem that needs it to be done, like commonly people do it to get support for new CPU's or Being able to boot from NVME etc. Unless you have something that literally does not work, and says it needs a BIOS update in order to work, just don't do it.

depends, luckily it was a fleet machine that i bricked and we have DDPE protection so it was replaced the next day, but not sure how well you would get on being a consumer, Dell are infamous for going out of their way to serve enterprise customers, while leaving consumers out to rot
