New Gaming and Programming PC

Hello i'm going to make a new PC that i will use for Gaming and Programming. Mostly website, mobile programming and data analyzing. For gaming it mostly will Dota2, CS:GO and some AAA games.

I'm sticking with ASUS for Aura Sync RGB themed PC.

Can you help me choose a monitor for my build and any suggestion for my build to change?

I'm still confused about the difference between ASUS ROG IX HERO and ASUS STRIX Z270 series.

Do you need this much horse power? It doesn't sound like you do...

 

Also I think a 1600 would be better suited for your needs especially since you don't need the extra power...

i think i'll pass for ryzen build since many of my friends got bios problem. idk about the fix patch though. but thx for the recommendation.

 

i still need some suggestions for the monitor though.

Bios problem? What kind? I haven't heard of any...

some problem on overclocking mostly. idk the name of the problem though sorry for less information.

 

but is it ryzen 5 1600x can outperform i7 7700k?

mostly i already bought the part of the pc like cases and PSU so i have around 400$ to throw at monitor.

Ram overclocking maybe? That's a known issue with Ryzen and should be mostly addressed with agesa 1.0.0.6. It's rolling out as a beta bios update to high end am4 mobos right now and should be available for most mobos in a month or two.

 

Obviously 7700k is gonna be faster but my point is you could get a 1600 (not 1600x) instead and use the money saved to get a Vega 56, 980 ti, or 1070 instead. Which would make a much bigger difference.

No. Programming does better with more powerful, faster cores. Development environments do not tend to be highly threaded. An i7 is a good pick if you want to run a VM or two for testing.
