Hello,

Recently I have solved a freezing problem with my PC and along the way I've learnt a few things about my rig that is :
My motherboard doesn't have VRAM heat sinks which is apparently bad for overclocking but I was told I could still give it a mild overclock.

I wanted to overclock because I keep dropping Frames from 60 to 53-45 when or there is more than 1 person next to me in games like h1z1

So since I have no idea how to overclock and my motherboard is kinda old (last bios update is from 2015)
I used the overclocker profile and overclocked 10% to 4.1 Ghz which made my cpu run idle on 73 and motherboard on 70 .
So I immediately restored stock settings and left it like that till today .
So now I've overclocked to 3.6 GHz which almost did nothing to the temps so I bumped it up to 3.78 Ghz on approximately   1.128-1.106 V (I believe this is stock)
went from Cinebench 370 score to 391
I am using a stock cooler because I don't want to overclock alot anyway since I cant justify buying a 70 dollar motherboard for a 5 year old Cpu so I can save money for a ryzen CPU
So temps are after running blend test for 30 minutes :
CPU : Value 66C MAX 69.3 C (I think this is safe)
Motherboard is
tempin0  74C MAX 76 C
tempin1  46 C MAX 46C
the reason why I didn't stop the stress test is because I have read that motherboards should handle up to 85 C so yeah.

I haven't tested it in gaming yet but do you think its worth the extra heat for more performance ?
PC SPECS :
Fx-6300

2x4GB Gskill  1600MHz

asus m5a78l-m le

GTX 1050 2gb

Get a aftermarket cooler like the M9A its really quiet and good I have the same CPU and it really never goes about 70c on the most demanding tasks

Im mostly on discord now and you can find me on my profile

My suggestion is that dropping to 45 fps is fine you should just let it be. imo I would totally save up for a gpu first before the cpu because the cpu will last you awhile. Try buying a cooler like the Cooler Master T2 or T4 as I have used both of those to OC my old FX 6300 to 4.8ghz @ 65 to 73ish celsius on full load.

my Problem with overclocking is the motherboard not Cooler.
i can easily get a hyper 212 and get to 4.5 but my motherboard will be fried .

sorry for spam xD
But yeah 45-43 is really bad while playing a competetive shooting game.
most of my friends are running 80+ fps even tho they have 60HZ monitor

I get 378 on stock and I cant overclock unless there is a hacked bios for my mobo (its not the one in my signature because I RMAed it because it didnt work at all on both of the CPUs I have)

Then that's what you would call screen tearing, buddy. Dude, not to be rude or anything but you should just suck it up and play as anything above 30 fps is fine even in stuff like h1z1.

Exactly
Rust CPU usage drops to 25% ALOT
Cs go runs fine
I never had thermal throttle
I even go to desktop while gaming to check temps

But Rust has bad optimization and its full of buggs + it depends on what server I play it

Cs depends
competetive where there is not alot of players I run easy at 140+ and even 190 on dust
but gungames and deathmatches with alot of people sometimes drops to 90-80 in the worst cases
