Vegas Pro 13 help

My main computer specs: 

i5 4690k (haven't overclocked it)

GTX 960 4gb

16gb RAM DDR3-1600

1tb hdd, along with a 320gb hdd.

 

I have been using Vegas Pro for a while before it became very slow, and things would process fast. Now if I play a track, the entire project freezes, forcing me to end the task using the task manager. Is it my system that is messing with the project, or is it something i'm doing wrong? The project i'm working on at the moment is barely 1 min total of 8 1080p/60fps iPhone videos. Ask questions if I didn't specify anything clearly.
