thermal throttle

hello, my cpu is being thermal throttled and i wanna turn it off is it okay to do that?

specs:

FX 4300

GTX 750TI

8GB RAM

ASrock 960gm-vgs3 fx

You sure it's thermal throttling?

Thermal throttling means that the cpu is getting too hot and it must throttle itself so it won't crash, not some kind manufacturer limit.

 

If your cpu thermal throttles, what you need is better cooler.

i bencmark my cpu and keep any eye on temp and when it hits 69C it low clocks it self then back on the normal clock and so and so on

ok so i googled a bit and it seemst that the FX 4300 starts to throttle at 61c allready and the stock cooler is pretty shit so if you want better performance out of it you should invest in a thrid party cooler.

well then there is nothing really to do about it then.

 

Only thing you can do is clean all the dust out of your case for small thermal boost but otherwise only thing you can do is improve the cooling.

Its an old CPU with a poorly designed architecture and my FX-6300 shows up as a 3 core 6 thread CPU even though its a 6 core
