I have a table and when I insert a new row, it defaults to one of the alternating colors in my table and doesn't rearrange the formatting to go green, white, green white, etc.

The photo attached shows that when I insert new rows it defaults to green

It's not detecting the new ones as part of the range. Select the table, go to pivot table tools and there's an option under anaylze called change data source.

Select that and try again.

EDIT: I told you how to do it for pivot tables but I think this is a regular table, but there should be a similar option to change the data source
