Radeon Red Pack

ChackoM

So after the Vega annoucement, I'm a bit confused about the bundles they're giving. I'm interested in a Vega 56, but since I'm building a new system, the packs seem pretty good. However, if I buy the $500 pack, do I two free games and then also $200 discount on the monitor? So if I bought the monitor and the pack, how much would I have to pay?

Yeah. As faras I understood you get two games, 200$ off Samsung's freesync monitors and 100$ off Ryzen CPU + Mobo.

So can it be any of Samsung's freesync monitors? I wouldn't use the Ryzen CPU + Mobo deal as with a 1600 I think my cost would be cheaper even with the discount

-You're locked to the 1700X and 1800X.

-You're locked to three expensive X370 motherboards.

-You're locked to one specific Samsung FreeSync monitor.

Kinda seems to be a bad deal IMO.

hmm.. Now that I'm reading it seems like you'll get only games by getting cheapest pack

The AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 Liquid, Air and reference models will be shipping with these packs. The starting price of the Radeon Red pack is $499 US for the reference model which grants you two free games (Wolfenstein II and Prey 2). The higher priced Radeon Black Pack for $599 US grants you the game and a $100 US discount on a Ryzen 7 CPU while the top end Radeon Aqua pack will get you all of the above plus $200 off of an Samsung ultra-wide Freesync monitor for just $699 US.

TLDR:

Red pack is great cos free games.

Black pack is great if you wanted a top of the line motherboard.

Aqua pack is only good if you wanted that specific monitor in the first place.

Hmm, interesting. Seems like a good deal for getting two free games. And most likely the prices wont inflate due to cryptocurrency

It's not really free. Vega 56 without a pack should cost 399, not 499.

Hmm strange. If the discount is on all Freesync monitors that would be awesome, but I think the monitor itself is around one Grand

No it's with a certain kind of monitor, I think the CF791 series, that currently only has one model.

The package descriptions contradict themselves on some Points, as already mentioned with the 1800x and 1700x. I guess we'd have to wait.

So just found out on an article on PC Gamer. Apparently, the discount is just the ultrawide monitor for now, but will expand to other monitors soon.

Well if you can grab 600-400$ with 200$ off then it could be really great deal. But I doubt minitors like that will be included in that deal

It's like a "steep" discount on car. Sure it's a lot off but it's still WAY overpriced for what it is. 1440p ultrawide should be way cheaper by now.
