GPU Not sitting properly

Go to solution Solved by Uehm,

Have you got a cheap case?

I have a rosewill challenger at the current moment.

you push the IO side of the card first then force the back side in until it clicks in that happens with my board as well

I still can not get the IO side of the card to go in first. Should I attempt to do it out-of-the case and see if it'll work this way? I have all my current things set up again (my old set up) and kinda don't wanna break it again. But I do want to actually get this card up and running.

Apologies for the late reply. Happy Thanksgiving, once again, everyone!

Hi - this is sort of a continuation of my first thread needing help.

Anyways, when I bought my new card (MSI 7870 GHz) - I was faced with a problem. It wouldn't sit correctly. (Well, that's after I purchased it. I'm smart.) I got it sitting correctly once. I honestly did. I moved it for some stupid reason - I think it was because I didn't realize that the small PCI port (x4?) was being blocked by it. I didn't realize until later that I could plug my wireless card (which was originally sitting in the x4 slot) into the bigger ones and they would still fit. I did not know this until a further google search, but this was already afterwords I unplugged it. I've had another person try to help me push it into place. It didn't snap into place again. I tried plugging in my old card in the slot (It's a Sapphire 5450 - yay for placeholder parts!) and that fit into the slot. I tried on numerous occasions to put it into it's slot - and none of them worked. I'm so at a lost of what to do. There are two of the big ones (which I was plugging them in to), a grey one, and a small one where I plug my network card in. I can't necessarily plug it into the second one either - the one closest to the PSU. It's being blocked by the little plugs that you link to the front panel connectors. I'm still running a sort of strange setup where I'm using a case a size-or-so bigger than what my motherboard is. Would this have any effect on how this would be working? I looked inside the PCI port thing itself, and there isn't (as far as I can tell) anything inside it. I replaced it with the 5450 again and it seemed to work - but then lead me to the first problem I had.

In the section below (I couldn't figure out how to use the spoiler tag), there are some pictures I took of it. Apologies in advance for the quality of them - I'm using a 3 year old phone still.

Thank you so much for any help, it's really appreciated. Like seriously.

Happy Thanksgiving!
