Tip from SIGGRAPH 2017

AMD guy at SIGGRAPH during the Blender Spotlight that said that AMD is releasing a 2TB graphics card or something on Tuesday.... 

I can't verify since I'm not a press guy, just what I myself heard since I'm here and just heard it a few minutes ago

It's probaly some kind of PCI storage.Just Imagine A GPU with 2tb of Vram

We've seen AMD GPUs with NAND flash before. It's not like regular VRAM, the bandwidth to that huge 2TB pool will be much lower. And it will still have some normal quantity (gigabytes) of fast VRAM.

Not the way the rules state it needs to be; "or something" isn't a valid claim. You don't see news articles going "The suspect was 22 years old or something"; it's not usable.

Hes also not paid to do it. He's sharing information with others and trying to be useful. He may have put it in the wrong section or the wrong format but its better to help the guy than yell rules at him.

And hey actually the last time AMD launched a product like that was... SIGGRAPH 2016! That one had 1TB, so going 2TB this year seems plausible.

Can't report a source when you are the source. Title fits, it is just a tip, into some 2TB card. By all means, it fits into all the available posting requirements it can. Perhaps the "or something" is something the OP doesn't quite understand. 

 

No we wait for.. whatever.. this 2 TB card is.

 

My guess is it's an updated Radeon Pro SSG

Neither is anyone else in the news subsection, yet you see them following the rules. Both wrong section, given no source and wrong format, because no source. Again, "or something" isn't useful. That is, once again, in closer terms, like Intel presenting marketing slides with "16 cores or something at 3.2GHz or something." There's actually nothing we can do to help his statement or claim given "he heard" it.

By all means, here in this thread is probably better sorry, kinda rushed my post to get back to listening to the event, the AMD guy was presenting on something else, the GPU thing was a sidebar shout-out
