Can't install NVidia drivers

Hello

My screen turns black and then a bluescreen appears when I try to install the NVidia drivers for the used GTX 560 Ti I've got because new mid range GPUs are too expensive at the moment. The system worked fine with the last GPU I used. I'm using a fresh installation of Windows 10 64 bit. The bluescreen probably has something to do with the missing driver since Windows isn't able to install the driver for the GPU by itself and the system crashes when I try to install it.

Use DDU and try again. Are you sure you're using the right driver for the card and for your version of windows?

I'm using a fresh installation of Windows. Is DDU really needed? And I downloaded the drivers for NVidia 500 Series cards directly from NVidia's website. But even when I try to get drivers in Windows it crashes.

Are you using the drivers meant for windows 10?  And yes DDU is necessary as there are now remnants of failed attempts at installs floating around.

I just reinstalled Windows again. And I'm using the driver's for Windows 10. I'll probably try to install the drivers in safe mode now.

I successfully installed the drivers in safe mode but after I rebooted in normal mode I bluescreened with the code "page fault in nonpaged area".

Could very well be a memory error (triggered abnormally but not normally)

If you have multiple sticks of RAM, test them invididually across the different slots (a few tests) but make sure your Memory isn't causing those errors. (youd be surprised)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

My memory works fine. And I don't get this error anymore. But I still can't boot into Windows. NVidia support told me that the card is probably broken, but why does it work as long as I don't install the drivers?
