Right, I'm about to buy a 4k TV, and they are trying to get me to buy a £50 HDMI cable because "it's a 4k HDMI cable". Do I really need this or will my standard Belkin HDMI cable work fine?

You need a hdmi 2.0 if you want to run the tv at 4k 60hz. Any other hdmi cable will run the tv at 4k 30hz.

Most middle-aged people who aren't very technical, when buying a £600 TV don't really blink at saying yes to £50 cables. Easy way to shift them, very shitty and is why I tell everyone not to shop in Currys.

Yeah, normally i don't shop at Currys/pc world but it's the fastest way I can get the TV, sort of need it asap. They don't like me there, i once stopped them from selling a overpriced laptop to someone. Trying to tell them they need atleast 2TB HD and a SSD lmao

Your cable may or may not work. Try it first. If it doesn't then order a Premium High Speed HDMI cable from Amazon.
