If he is using a stock OEM PSU, then most likely there is not PCIe power connections... that coupled with the fact it's an older machine, it can't take advantage of newer speeds and technologies. The CPU, RAM, and MoBo itself would be major bottlenecks even if you went with a more powerful aftermarket PSU. Something ol' skool like a Radeon 6450 or a Geforce 610 range would be about all that lil' Celeron could handle... and even then may be too much... :-) Good luck!

P.S. I had an Athlon x2 2.0Ghz, and a 9400GT bottlenecked on the CPU...

what if he upgraded his cpu 2 a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Brisbane 2.5GHz am2 would it be better for gameing with a better psu and gpu idk if the pcie is 1.0 or 2.0 the ram is ddr2 2gb or is it not even worth doing

Well, You could definately upgrade the CPU, and it will help a little... BUT keep in mind that you are still bottlenecking on the RAM.. PLUS, since Athlon x2 is now considered a legacy CPU, you are looking at almost $100 on Amazon or getting a used one on Ebay. Personally, just get an inexpensive $40 GPU, and save to build a better computer.
