Cpu pll oc voltage

Does anyone know anything about this setting? I have had temp issues with my 7700k and dark rock 3 and I read lowering the cpu pll oc voltage to 1.1 will help with temperatures but I also read that it would mess with the sensors and would give false reading. I would appreciate anything anyone could add to the subject.
