I never played Destiny, I'm at work, and I can't watch videos, but I got a free game code with my video card and I'm looking forward to the game's launch. However, the few gameplay videos I watched from the recent open Beta are kind of confusing- like they were made for people who played Destiny and wanted comparisons, rather than people new to the series.

 

Can someone explain the game/what I can expect?

Picture a shooting game with MMORPG-like mechanics and loot similar to diablo/borderlands just not as randomized.

 

So open world, shooting things, cooperative or competitive gameplay, levelling up and character skills/classes.
