Pc wont let me open cd drive

Specs:

Xfx r7870

32gb ddr3 ram

2 intel xeon cpus (model unknown)

Os none

Psu 1000watt silent pro gold

240gb pny ssd

Lg cd rom

2 port usb 3.0 pci e card

 

The issue:

Well i got the keyboard to work and ive entere the boot menu however i cant open my dvd drive to insert my windows 7 cd

Try a different USB port, maybe a 2.0?

Being a server board there is a chance it does not setup USB during boot time meaning you might need a PS/2 keyboard for the BIOS.

There may be a pinhole for manual eject, I'd try that. Does it try and open it? Or is ti completely dead.

There is a flashing green light but eject button doesnt work ill look for a manual eject hole

 

Update found it stuck a sim tool inside and now its making weird noises. I think i may have broke it. Im not to worried cuz i never use it anyways but now im not sure if it will read my boot cd

Hmm. If you can get it to open and the reader is still fine, you should be good. I'd unplug it, open it up, make sure there'e nothing to scratch the disc, then put the disc in and reassemble and plug it in. Should work.... hopefully.
