Audio jack/input not working

i got my first pair of non usb headphones(beyerdynamics DT 770 200 ohm) but my audio input is not working. does anyone why this is and might have a solution for me?

 

my motherboard: MSI z97 gaming 5

Check the front panel connector "HD-AUDIO" is wired to the correct pin

i just checked and its in the correct pin. but the realtek UI shows me that there is something in my IO audio port(its called ss audio or something), but windows does not show it in playback audio devices
