Hey, im saving some money to build a new PC gaming case, and i would like to know if it would run optimally with the next config:

- Motherboard: Asus M5a99fx Pro R2.0 Chipset 990fx Scoket Am3+

-  Processor: AMD Fx 8350 Black Edition 4.0ghz - 4.2ghz

- Ram: Ddr3 Gskill 2x4gb Kit 1866mhz Sniper (8gb)

- Video Card: AMD Toxic R9 280x GDDR5 384 bit - 3 Gb

- Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1tb 64mb / 7200rpm

- Power Supply: Thermaltake 600w Tr2 Tr-600 (maybe i should pick a better one...)

- Case: already have one

That's it. If someone have also some recommendations, i will hear it too.

Looks good, however I would highly recommend tossing in a Samsung 840 EVO 120/250GB SSD, it will make a massive difference to the experience you will have.

MAXIMUS VII HERO | i7 4770K w/ H100i | 2x8GB 1600MHz | GALAX GTX 970 x2
250GB SSD boot | 250GB x2, 1TB SSD storage | Corsair 400C | Corsair RM550

  • Definitely a better psu.
  • Depending on local pricing, a Seagate Barracuda might save a bit.
  • If you can, work an SSD into the build. In fact, give some thought to being able to get by with just an SSD.

It would perform well but you can get better for your money.

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?

Im from Argentina actually, i suppose that ill spend around 1300 - 1400 USD (8500 argentinean pesos aprox.). The idea its buy everything except the Video Card, and a couple of months later finally buy the R9 280x (money problems).

Don't get the TR2.  I had it for 2 weeks and then it died.  The replacement also died, this time after 1 week.

Definitely.

Which power supply unit  would you recommend me that doesnt exceed the TR2 price for too much?

Since you're not shopping from the US, where are you actually shopping?

What's with the 'shares' of prices like $4299.90 or $533,87?

Oh... I understand now, the thing is that the translation sucks haha. Total price would be in that case, $5,399 argentinean pesos (around 880 USD....yeah....really expensive in this country). The "shares" would be installments (i believe thats the right translation) of $670 pesos per month.
Sadly, technology is very expensive here, so its hard to some people build a good PC.

Ahh, that's what I thought it was. Just wasn't sure.

One more thing--what case do you already have?

Actually its not even a gaming case, but i never thought that a good case would be really necessary, for me its just another waste of money, money that i could use for parts that i really want, like Mother, Video Card, etc.
Maybe im wrong, but, having a open case that its on an open place, its not almost the same that having a close case with good ventilation?. Anyway, of course that i want to buy one nice case, but that would be the last thing on my buy list.
As i said, thats me dumb idea, Im maybe wrong.
P.S: Thank you for taking the time to help me out.

I was wondering what case you have to figure out what you can fit inside.

Its very standar, something like this:

gabinete-atx-para-pc-oxxon-usb-y-mic-fro

With the difference that mine has a front entrance to put a 120mm fan.

Now that i see, my gtx 275 fit leaving just a short space (about 4 cm), so i think that R9 280x wouldnt fit there, less will do the Toxic model.

We mainly need to know what size off motherboard we can fit into it. For a "gaming case" it is mainly called gaming because of LEDs and what not, there are cheap good cases out there, but ofcourse no idea what case you have and how expensive 'cheap' cases are in your country.

I would sugges to wait with the build until then. You can likely get better prices by that time.

NZXT Phantom windowed, Asus Z77 Sabertooth, Intel 2600K, Noctua NH-D14, EVGA 780 Classified, Crucial Ballistic Tactical, Crucial M4 128GB + Samsung 850 EVO, Corsair RM850, Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Peripherals: Sennheiser HD598, FinalMouse Classic, SteelSeries Qck Heavy, Ducky Shine Zero (MX Brown), AOC G2460PF & Qnix QX2710

Build Log: Phantom - Antique Noctua

I was going to ask if you could measure the cpu cooler clearance on the case. It seems you're going for a new case though.

Since my actual case its not gonna work, what do you think about this one?

Thermaltake Commander Vn400a1w2n

Would it do the job?

It looks alright. I'd get something like a Source 210 Elite instead though.
