Just upgraded to windows 10 and sound is all screwy

Mattco

Just upgraded to windows 10 fom 8.1, and my sound is all messed up, ive touched nothing reguarding sound since upgrading. I have an onboard soundcard from a MSI Z170 A5 gaming motherboard and realtek audio drivers.

I also tried my headphones with my phone and the work fine.

The sound is all partly distorted and most of the noise is coming from the right side.

You've gotta download the new drivers when you have a new OS.

Click the above link to go to MSI's website for your motherboard and download the Windows  10 drivers. Make sure you uninstall the old drivers before installing the new ones. Sometimes the installer will automatically do this.

Have you checked the equalizer settings for realtek and see what they're doing and try setting them to defaults?
