What CPU should I get?

I am researching parts for a new computer that I am going to build and I am not sure what CPU or graphics card I need. I intend to use this computer for modelling software such as AutoCad and Solidworks, as well as gaming, primarily games like Kerbal Space program and Cities: Skylines. I would like to be able to play KSP with heavy visual mods such as Scatterer installed in addition to nearly 80 others.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Since no budget has been said I'd recommend a R5 1600, GTX 1060 6GB, and 2x8GB (16GB) of 3200MHz RAM.

Modeling? Ryzen 5 1600 or a Ryzen 7 chip, 16GB+ of 3k MHz or so RAM, and a good video card (what resolution are you thinking you will be using?), IPS monitor for better color reproduction.

R5 1600 or R7 1700 with a 1070 and some fast RAM would be my choice

r5 1500 and r5 1600 have the exact same amount of cores and threads

It's the R5 1500X. There is no R5 1500 and no they don't have the same amount of cores and threads. The R5 1500X has 4 cores and 8 threads while the R5 1600 has 6 cores and 12 threads.

I would like to stay under $1500 overall maybe lower if possible
