Low gpu and cpu usage while playing game

My nephew came over so I downloaded minecraft for him and while we were playing a  noticed my system was only using about 10-15% cpu and only 10% gpu sometimes even less thought that was Strange just wondering if that was normal. I'm running a evga gyx 1070 SC and a i5 7600k. My computer seemed like it wasnt even running anything. didn't see much fps loss only sometimes.

I don't play minecraft but I thought it was a little cpu intensive

not a very well optimized game, it uses mostly single-core, do stress testing like blowing up TNT.

So getting sub 10% usage for both cpu and gpu is normal?

I see no issues here. 160 FPS and low CPU/GPU loads just means that the system doesn't have to much of any work.

it will depend on the scenario, your computer will only work hard when it needs to
