Hmmmm. Ryzen would be better, and probably cheaper, than an i5. What's your total upgrade budget for CPU, mobo, and RAM?

Also, the Witcher 3 is a pretty demanding game, do you have the setting tweaked and hair works turned off?

no no I don't have a global budget you could say and I found a mobo to my liking (https://www.alternate.nl/GIGABYTE/GA-B250-HD3P-socket-1151-moederbord/html/product/1315202?

it's just the cpu that I don't now if it would be worth upgrading.

It's an Intel mobo though, and i5s are much worse for the price than a Ryzen 5 1600. The i5 7500 is a 4c/4t CPU, and for the same price you can get 6c/12t (3 times the threads) with Ryzen. See my edit above for a solid upgrade.

It's only a Ryzen 5 1400, but it can overclock and is still a 4c/8t CPU, so double the threads of the i5 will defo help out. Though if you can find a Ryzen 5 1600 in stock, it'd be much better.

hmm I think I won't go for the R5 1400. I'm not really an overclocker and stil sorry but pcpartpicker isn't really up to date for the Belgian market lol. there are ryzen 5 1600 for sale here and lot's of cheaper mobo and ram.

I also found a good deal on an i5 7500 for 170 euro's and will prob g ofor that

OK. Though the i5 will struggle in any multithreaded games (I think BF1 is one of them). And future games will be supporting more cores, so I'd go with Ryzen. I'm going to take my own advice and upgrade eventually, my current rig is in my signature. Though I only play Battlefront II (2005) so far, and don't have any new games to test out on it.
