ddr3 running at 1600 2x8gig is the best you can get/use. Check local prices for whatever fits into your budget.

can't find any 8 gig stick under $50 on amazon (not to mention 2x8 kits).

You're gonna need a bigger budget for 2x8.

Best you can get within budget is a 4 gig stick
