Hotels for LTX

Go to solution Solved by yathis,

A motel is a motel, there aint nothing much different from one to another. You can tell by the way they keep the motel if its atleast ok to rent a room there.

The exception is Wastings and Pain aka Hastings and Main area.

Then a "Hotel" is more like a crack shack.

British Columbia made it legal to pitch a tent in a city park from 11pm to 7am.

But if you are looking for first hand knowledge, I have stayed in countless Sandmans, probably even that one in Langley, and I can vouch for those. Or for that matter, I can vouch for any national chain motel/hotel. Sometimes I do prefer the mom and pop motels over the cookie cutter chain accomadations. Because the mom and pop digs have character. I look for a pool, hot tub, sauna. Also I only go for the rooms in the middle not near a pop machine, ice machine, stairway door etc etc etc. A good in, is to tip the counter person a $20 and they will upgrade your room.

If you are so concerned about which ones are worth it and not, then you can never go wrong with a national chain. its common knowledge that there aint nothing wrong with them. Pay your $100 or $125 for one nights sleep on a dirty comforter that they wash once a week if ever. Otherwise if I were you, I'd go for the $50-$75 mom and pop, you are just staying there for one night aren't you?

Ok one more time for those who weren't listening. I was looking for firsthand knowledge. I am more than capable of punching in langly on hotels.com or trivago. I was looking for someone who maybe lived in the area or had stayed there before. In my area I cold tell you what hotels are not worth your time and which ones a nice regardless of star rating. I was merely looking for the same to take into consideration when I make my choice.

Cheapest is going to be Langley Highway Hotel, its a bit of a walk though 1.5km, You could take the 501 bus. Which is probably a rush hour only bus.

Next up is the Sandman, probably $75 if you are lucky, more like $100 easy.

Looks like you could squat in the bushes North East and South of the Events Center, lots of bushes. Dunno if thats private property though. Its definately a commercial trucking company to the NE, South is a Church so your good either way.

There is a Value Inn to the SE that has a $55/night posted on google maps. Looks interesting.

2.81km away

West Country is cheap also.

Travelodge is cheap too.

If anything rent a bicycle while you are there, walking is a real bitch.

I am renting an Airbnb and bringing my tame ebike.

As far as stores go, there is nothing nearby in terms of grocery stores. A Macs Milk to the South on the same road. Save on Foods and London Drugs further South. A Crap-O-Rama style dollar store and a mall.

I personally looked at hostels, always my first instinct. Closest one is in Burnaby. But to get a hostel its still $45 a night, and you are sharing with strangers. Airbnb atleast you get your own room in a residential house for the same price as a hostel.

Campgrounds are another option, but again they are so far away, 5km away or so. Thats why I stated squatting in the bush. Fort Langley camping would be cool.

which is right on the river, could go fishing if you got a BC fishing license.

Ouch https://www.fortcamping.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/fortrates.pdf

$40 min

This would be cool though

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.
