Barb Vs. Compression fittings

Is there really any benefit? I can only generally tell that compression fittings look cleaner, but can any of you give me a good reason why spending twice as much on compression fittings would be worth it?

Although this is purely anecdotal everyone who I know that brought barbs changed to compression's the first time they redid their loop.

Compression fittings look cleaner, have less room for error, and are more secure.

however, a barb fitting done right is still fine.

Got 38 barb fittings between my two pc's. Don't plan on swapping any time soon. I can spend that money on some much more beneficial. If I started from the beginning with them I wouldn't mind spending the cash.

My rigs look like crap and some fitting wont help that much.
