Hello once more, fellow forum-perusers;

I am a first-time builder looking for some help with my parts choices. A case suggestion is also needed. my absolute maximum budget is 680$ and I only really plan on gaming. admittedly, I'm partial to underdogs, so I'm a bit of a Team Red fan, especially with the whole sour play debacle with intel, but I won't let that interfere with my parts choices.

This build was originally an m-itx build, but the cost increases deterred me from that. I also require Wi-Fi and a level of portability, as I plan on travelling a lot. Also, Airport security probably feels better with a side window, and I like those too, so it's a necessity for me.

That's my build so far, feel free to suggest or criticize as you see fit.

the fans are just placeholders, though the idea of RGB fans does apppeal to me.

My personal favorite case is the Enermax Steelwing, it's design is my favorite, but it's prohibitively expensive, so a similar alternative is preferred.

Thank you in advance for any help and have a good day.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Regards,

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     A fellow forum user

That psu you choose is crap. Try finding one on teir 3 or above on this list. I would recommend looking at the corsair CXM series that has the grey label or the seasonic S12II.

Excuse my  stupidity, rather new to this, but what exactly is wrong with it? I understand that 80+ is an efficency rating, and that the PSU is from a reputable brand and has enough wattage to sustain my parts, are there other factors I have to consider?

Voltage regulation and ripple suppression. Bad voltage regulation will result in your PSU giving your hardware voltage that is not safe for your components. In really bad cases it can fry your components but in situations where it is just bad but not horrible it can cause the vrm of your hardware to ware out faster and shorten their lifespan. Either way you will have hardware failing before it's supposed to because you wanted to save 15 bucks on a proper psu. Trust me I was just like you when I first started building pcs but then I got informed much like you are now. Luckily I happened to get a good psu when I bought mine. I'm just trying to make sure you don't buy a psu that is harmful for your other hardware

Noted, I've updated my parts list accordingly. Do you have any other suggestions, especially on cases and platform choice? Thanks.
