Go to Settings > System > Display > Display Adapter Properties > Monitor

Hi all, I have a 4K 60Hz tv (HDMI 2.0) that I am trying to connect to my computer, which is an intel 6600K with a MSI R9 280X. The 280X has mini display ports but i'm not sure if they are 1.1 or 1.2?

I have a mini display port 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 active adapter and an HDMI 2.0 cable, but am only able to get 30 Hz on my TV. (goes up to 60Hz when I run at 1080p)

My only guess right now is that my 280X is only mini displayport 1.1

Any other thoughts on what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance

Version 1.2 if this is your card: https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/R9-280X-GAMING-3G.html#hero-specification

I'd imagine that the issue either is with the adapter or some settings on your pc or tv

The cord and adapter check out fine, I just can't find any info on whether the tv port is 2.0 certified.

What browser are you using for the test? (If edge, it might impact, just a guess though)

@maddog1234 Well chrome shouldn't have any issues there... Also not sure how to fix the audio issue. Try plugging the adapter and HDMI cables into different ports.

@maddog1234 Do you have separate speakers or do you plan to use the ones on your tv?

I have seperate speakers that I use but the TV speakers also work fine. Im worried that my PC thinks its DVI so is capping the bandwidth at 4K @ 30Hz

Try restarting your tv and pc then check to see if its 60hz

restarting seems to have done the trick!

Thanks a ton!

Is there anyway I can give you a like or thumbs up? (literally just made an account to try and figure this out)
