I was reading this on Reddit regarding coolers for the Node 202

"My friend just bought a Node 202 with an i7 6700 (non-K) and runs 55 degrees celsius (load) at with an Thermalright AXP-100 Muscle (which fits, I know the specs say its to high but it fits fine)."

That cooler advertises as being 65mm tall, the Node 202 only advertises 56mm cooler clearance. It looks like the engineers listed some very loose tolerance regarding cooler compatibility. I'm curious just how much can I get away with for CPU cooling in this case?

I really don't want the cryorig C7 because I don't like coolers with fans that aren't standard and replaceable.

I use a Alpenföhn Silvretta, which has a cooler hight of 45mm.
I replaced the 15mm fan with a 25mm fan and it is now almost touching the side panel.

45mm -15 + 25 = 55mm

There is no way he was able to get a 65mm cooler in there.

I wonder if he meant without the fan perhaps...

Oh. wait did I look up the right cooler?o.O

Probably :P

I suggest a SilverStone Argon AR06. It is 58mm high, which should just barely fit in there (I hope)

Or a Cryorig C7, which is probably even better, considering it has a larger fan.
