my friends pc isnt working so hes given it to me to have a look. i instantly though dead psu. but the 5v rail is clearly working as he told me his led keyboard was lighting up with the pc plugged in but it is totally unresponsive to a press of the power button. no psu fan no cpu fan or graphics card fan. ive checked all the basic stuff. rebuilt it to avoid any wierd problems. Im guessing dead motherboard right as its not even trying to turn the psu on when i press the power button or short the connector.

oh yeah sorry i forgot to mention. used the one out of my pc which i know 100% works. its just like no activity to do with the system but the 5v rail is active as the keyboard lights up. its like it just wont trigger the psu to power it. but ive tried 2 psus.

A: its your cpu (dead or maby bios update)

B: fail save for powerdelevery (<- not 100% sure )
