DisplayPort To (insert conversion!)

Monitors can have displayport without being 144hz, mine have display port, they're only 75hz.

Don't fully understand your question, the video you linked to is just the display subforum. This thread might help you.

My monitors aren't 144Hz either, but they have two Displayport inputs and one daisy chain port. If you change Displayport to HDMI, what advantage would that give you? It's not going to magically change your frame rate. If you're using a 4k monitor, HDMI 2.0 already supports that at 60Hz.

My main computer:

i7 6700k || GTX 1070 || Asus Z170 RGB || C.M. Hyper 212 EVO || 16GB RAM || 256GB NVMe SSD || 500GB SATA SSD || 12TB total HDD || Define R5 Blackout || 850W PSU

More Details Below :)

If you change Displayport to HDMI, what advantage would that give you? <-- This is exactly what I was asking

I am looking at updating my monitors anyway so I will look for some with displayport

What advantage would it give you over what? Displayport is currently better than HDMI, so whichever is the weakest link in the chat will be the results you get.

Here's an analogy, you have a USB 3.0 flash drive and port on your motherboard, but you connect it though a USB 2.0 hub. The entire thing is only USB 2.0 speed now.

If you take a fast connection (Displayport) and convert it to a slow(er) connection (HDMI) the slower one takes priority. The best thing to do would be to just use Displayport. The next best would be just HDMI. Using an adapter may introduce more problems than it's worth such as latency.

Nothing!

A different plug that works with controllers expecting that plug in there whole and HDMI 'formatted' data over it. Atm Displayport is superior in every way.

Well one advantage I can see with displayport is that if that's your only port you can buy a displayport to HDMI hub and run like 2 or 3 displays off that single displayport connector. Otherwise converting from one standard to another it mainly to make what you have work with your graphics card.
