UH OH!

Go to solution Solved by iWearKiltz,

Managed to fix the issue. i believe it was to do with what i first predicted of the PCIe lanes and not enough power or something along those lines

took out a third party usb 3 adapter and the fan started spinning when it was reconnected to the power.

thanks for any suggestions - the 7850 lives to produce pixels another day!

so basically I've had my sapphire 2gb 7850 since july 2012 and i just realised the front fan (furthest from i/o bracket) is not spinning. this is the card here http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007JRGRPO/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

im not sure when it stopped, but I've been over clocking it and playing a lot of battlefield.

right now I'm going to check if the PCIe lanes are drawing too much power (a lot of things plugged into them right now!)

then I'm going to cry (LOL!)

i no longer have the box it came in, and i didn't buy it from amazon themselves, but one of the traders on amazon.co.uk

any advice anyone?

My advice would be : see if warranty is still available and what's needed to honour it (receipt, box, ...). If you can manage to have everything you need, send for rma. When you get a new card back, don't open it. Sell it on ebay and buy a 7970 or a 280x.
