Basically I just threw together a (okay) PC from the 4 old PC from my father's (old) business.

The specs as follows:

CPU: i3 540

Mobo: MSI h55-E32

RAM: Kingston 4GB 1333MHz

GPU: A form of HD 5700 (no idea about actual GPU but I'm pretty sure its a R7 240 as that's what a label on the back claims)

HDD: A seagate 7200RPM 500GB

PSU: Ermmmm a generic AF 450Watt

OS: Whindows 10 with no key :D

Anyway, issue number one is steam won't download updates/itself (so the data for the steam itself) for itself (i.e. like updates to the steam program/launcher) as it claims there is no internet connection although I was able to go onto steam (website) and download the first 1.3MB and steam just updated on my laptop so...welp?

I've tried "reinstalling" steam, off and on again, reconnecting the internet.

Issue number two is why can't I get the 5700 to detect my second monitor? Its currently just duplicating the image :/

Is it possible that due to how both monitors only have VGA (so one connected to the VGA port on GFX with the other being connected to DVI-I with an  adapter) and the GFX is only able to display a single VGA image, its unable to display 2 different screens?

Thanks guys!

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

I don't know much in the way of Steam, as I don't use it more than maybe once every two months or so, but as for the graphics issue I might be able to help (key word: might). Did you try using older drivers?

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2

Ping steam download servers or whatever from command line.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Doesn't work when it only detects both monitors as a single monitor :/

Ermmm about that, I'm using the drivers auto-downloaded by windows 10 as AMD's website basically won't load without a VPN (for some reason) and yes, no clue what driver I should be looking for that GPU so can't really go anywhere else to download em, especially without google.

Catalyst (after a painful 10 hour download although I have a 30/18Mbps connection RN). May try Crimson :) (anyway, the one installed by windows 10 was something older so...)

Or I could just install the intel HD drivers for me iGPU in the i3 :P

Anyway, fixed the steam issue by copy n pasting steam from my laptop.
