I'm not sure for your specific phone, but normally just put the zip on your SD, go to recovery, do a factory and cache reset, and flash the zip.

@TheRoss0411

Usually you root your phone, install a custom recovery [such as CWM for example], put the .zip with the rom in it on your phone, back up your phone [in CWM], factory reset the phone [in CWM], install the ROM [install zip in CWM], wipe cache, dalvik cache, fix permissions / battery stats [depends on CWM version] restart phone -> enjoy ROM ^^

checked on XDA real quick, didn't find your phone. Odd. They don't seem to have many Huawei phone developers. You have to make sure you check for compability. Perhaps google for guides, you'll find one somewhere ^^

Rooting guides I found.

This is a flashing guide for stock roms, don't know if it works with custom roms aswell, but perhaps you can do something with it.

Also note: Rooting / Romming may brick your phone [-> You lose warranty once you root your phone [if you can't remove the indication which I have no idea if you can on Huawei phones] and if bricked usually you can trash it]

CWM doesn't seem to be natively compatible with the Huawei Ascend y300. A similar model is from what I've read.

Custom recoveries are an easy way to flash roms, there is other ones aswell, I use CWM for my Samsung phones, you'll have to google for custom recoveries or a way to flash without them [possible aswell, usually little more time consuming]

This looks decent ^^

Edit:

The App method seems quite simple but will require root. root your phone first, then install recovery ^^

The bootloader stays locked, you can't install any custom recovery or ROM after rooting this way. To install a custom recovery or ROM you have to unlock the bootloader.

No you won't be able to install a rom or the recovery. You'll have to unlock bootloader -> root -> flash recovery -> put rom file on your SD card [internal preferably] -> go to your stock recovery -> back up phone -> wipe phone -> install rom -> wipe cache / dalvik cache / battery stats / fix permissions [not all options might be available, no worries if some are not, the wipe ones are for sure] -> reboot phone.
