Does a restart on my new Acer XR342CK 34" Ultra-Wide Monitor

I just got a Acer XR342CK 34" Ultra-Wide UHD IPS Free-Sync (AMD Adaptive Sync) Gaming Monitor,3440 x 1440. For now I'm testing it out and seeing if i like it or not. The problem is watching newer movies. Let me explain, each time i watch a older TV show i downloaded (a 2006 year season show) it works perfectly fine. But when ever i watch newer video like the new Power Rangers 2017 movie on either Movies & TV app or on VLC player, it would just sort of do a shutdown/restart about 20 minutes into the video. Playing games is not a problem, it works perfectly fine with games. Its just when im trying to watch something already on my harddrive. Is the problem with the monitor or something with my build? my previous monitor worked perfectly fine and it was AOC - G2460PF 24.0" 1920x1080.
