Upgrade from NUC D54250WYK2 to.... what?

Hi guys.

I've had this Intel NUC D54250WYK2 for the past three and a half years now, and even if that system is still going strong I really feel the need to upgrade.

I still love the formfactor that the NUC stands for, if it's a bit bigger wouldn't mind, but I dont want it to get a lot louder and I would love if it could still sit in the front row without screaming colors and what not, bare in mind the WAF here.. :)

So what do you guys and gals prefer in a system like this? I'm not a cheap skate, but I'm no millionaire either. So keep the costs below $1200 please.

My demands is that it can run 4K(maybe even HDR) video on Kodi(but I want to keep windows as OS), maybe 1080-3D also(I guess it can run that if it can run the 4K HDR?), it must deliver all the newest sound standards like atmos and other formats ++

So please help me to configure a new setup, and no I dont want chromecast or apple tv.. I've tried both and I am not satisfied with any of those options..

I sort of "built" the NUC, with that I mean I put the RAM, the internal SSD and CPU in myself.. How much more of a build can it be with the SFF?

So no, I havent looked too much into that, but I'm not a stranger to that thought, so if you can give me a hint to a setup that would meet my demands it would be great, especially if it's an easy build as well.. :)

But I found one called 7I7BNH and one called 7I7BNHX1.. What is the difference between these ones?

OT: Ooooh, John Wayne.. :D

I guess with the stupid Norwegian import rules, taxes and so on it will be cheaper to just buy from a norwegian shop. And the Norwegian guarantee-laws are awesome, so I guess I might land on the one without the pre installed 16GB SSD(isnt that a bit small..? I believe I installed the 128GB in my NUC over 3 years ago..) and max it on the RAM.

But if anyone has a pro-tip that would run circles round this NUC setup, please step forward.
I guess it may be a hard task, specially since I allready have a relationship with a NUC, but I have read about some competition in this segment, and I want most bang for the bucks this time.. :)

But again, thank you very much, SuperCloneRanger! U might just have given me a winner right from the start here.. :)

I guess it's a sure thing with the kaby lake, but this system supports HDCP 2.2, right? I cant find that written anywhere, but I've been told that Kaby lake would do so..
