Hi,
Avast boot scan detected a Malware-Gen Trj
On C:\Users\Inuka\Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Burn\desktop.ini

Is this a false positive? Or a legit Trojan will there be harm in deleting it?
I just switched from Avira to Avast and ran a scan and this was detected at boot scan.

Thanks

usually the generic detection's like these tend to be accurate , Different anit-virus detects virus patterns differently probably why your earlier AV didn't detect it, but you can only install a few in your system . PS: in the future post when putting on the file directory paths please do replace your user name with some obsolete letters.

Just now, Vielo said:

it's located in Windows will I mess the PC up

It's safe to do so , But if you're worried , make a system restore point  & see if it's causing any problems after removal . if so restore it to that date if things go bad/unstable, otherwise remove the restore point afterwards if system is stable because it will contain the trojan files locked i n but ready
