I've got a lead on an HP Compaq 6005 Pro SFF with a Phenom II x3 B75 (basically a 740 BE), 2GB of RAM, no HDD, for what amounts to $45. I can also get myself a GT 1030 low-profile at Best Buy for free after price matching it and using my $75 gift card, and I have a HDD here that I could drop in. Is this combo worth my time as a light gamer/HTPC, or am I better off hanging onto my cash and card and looking elsewhere?

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

it could work as a HTPC, and possibly light gamer. depends what games you're playing (think of it like a 3 core first gen i5, with 2gb of ram)

i find it to be expensive for what it is though, i think you can get something with a better CPU for the same price.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.
