SSD/HDD noob

Hey guys. So i got myself an SSD but its my first time so i could use some advice before i get it all in there so i dont f it up. I know while installing windows on the SSD i need to unplug my HDD so it goes all right. After than must i format my HDD all together or since i have C: and D: on there (where C: is windows) can i just format the C and combine it with D since on D is almost 700 gigs of data that would be hard for me to somehow transfer?

Yeah you can just install windows on the ssd and don't even need to disconnect the hard drive. Some people just disconnect it so they don't accidently format during the installation process or something.

Is the HDD going to be used as mass Storage?

Yes. Probably most games and other stuff. A few games i will put on the SSD for the load times

Is there anything currently on the HDD that you want to keep?

Yes, around 300-400 gigs of games and pics that i stored on the D drive since i dont format it if i install new windows

Is there a copy of Windows already installed to the HDD?

Yes on drive C: but everything i wanna keep is on drive D:
