Hi All,  it seems i have a weird issue, i have a stable overclock with my Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.7 GHz with a MSI Pro Carbon X370 using the latest bios 7A32v17.

The issue is, when i run cinbench R15 on occasions i will get a score of 480 which suggests that for some reason the Ryzen underclocks to i "think" 1.5GHz, once i restart the machine and run it again without entering into the bios i will then get a score of 1190. This issue is really annoying me as if i dont run cinebench when i load into windows i dont know that its underclocked as windows and all other tools i.e. corsair link, system info cpu-z etc all report 3.7 GHz.

Has anyone had similar issues?  Does anyone know a fix?

Thanks

Did you stress test your CPU hard with Prime, Aida or something like that while monitoring temperatures AND frequency and are sure that they are both in safe zone and as expected?

Did you overclocked using the BIOS and not AMD software?

You can also try to set the BIOS to "cinebench" optimized mode to be more sure of the result, if that isn't an Asus exclusive feature.

The issue isnt the stability, for some reason it just doesnt load the overclock although when i check the bios its loaded and windows along with all other monitoring tools report that its set yet when i run cinebench the result is pathetic, once i reboot and run again its fine. It just makes no sense, maybe its a bios issue and the problem will be resolved with the next update, i suppose as it maybe that ill be best post on the MSI forum and seeing if others have similar issues.

It's really weird. Have you tried other benchs like firestrike?

Ye, and now i see others have a similar issue however theirs has literally locked and wont change. I think its a bios issue, so annoying but i suppose until MSI release a fully working bios ill just leave my PC on or use hibernate.

Are u accidentally tuning a 2 core run ?

Nope, after some research it seems that a bug in the bios sometimes cause the the multiplier to lock at 15. THe only work around atm is to flash back to an older version but then nothing above 2133 ram speed works haha. The joys.....

I had the same problem with an R7 1700 on the B350M Mortar by MSI. I needed to go through old BIOS versions and overclock to see if it was stable/would even work.

I ended up having to go to the second oldest BIOS available, haha. Finally got a stable OC then.
