So i have read the pinned thread and I don't seem to be able to fix the problem.

I bought this PC used without a gpu and when i first got it I removed everything, cleaned it and then put it back together.
It worked even tho i never installed windows because my hard drive didn't arrive and still has not.

So i just used to logg in to the bois to check if everything is connected and i did that about 7 times or so .
note that one of those times i did it without noticing that I have not put the heatsink on the cpu but I turned it off shortly after

and still i logged onto the Bois a few times after no problem.

So today my GPU arrived which is a 1050 and i went for a 1050 because it works with almost every 300w psu

So after i connected the gpu (note that I did not test the pc before) the fans from both the cpu fan and the gpu worked but the pc turns off after 3 seconds.

PC specs :
AMD FX6300

8gb ram @ 1600Mhz

MOBO Asus M5A78l-M LE

PSU LC-Power LC420-12 V2.31 350w

Fixes I have tried :
I unplugged then plugged all the cables

I reseated both the RAM stick and the cpu

I removed the gpu to see if the problem is with the wattage usage and used VGA cable instead.

and this is again WITHOUT windows installed and no hard drive.

And I was not able to locate the Cmos reset switch

What would have gone wrong ??

no I was actually able to get to the Bois WITHOUT a gpu but it wont work with or without now

Oh your mobo must have integrated graphics then. I'd try resetting the cmos and see if it works then. Otherwise the mobo may have been fried. Did you leave power connected when you put in the GPU?

it sounds to me like a BIOS setting, make sure your monitor is plugged into the GPU and that the BIOS is not using integrated graphics. if it is, connect the monitor to the motherboard and look for a setting in the BIOS that allows you to use a dedicated GPU instead of integrated

possibly, but if it won't post at all you will have to replace all the parts one by one to see which replacement solves the problem, you need to have spare parts for that, maybe borrow them from someone

hmm

this could be tricky.

the reason why i actually bought this Pc is because im on a budget and doing that makes no sense since i was not willing to buy individual parts ..

yes, I understand. but when you have a system that won't post at all then it is impossible to tell which component is broken. the only thing that you can still try is to unplugg everything that isn't needed to post, so casefans, storage and all those things. and reset cmos, but you have probably tried that by now.

Yeah ..
What pisses me off that it was working yesterday

and not knowing what went wrong

I connected the gpu while the power was off (still plugged in tho) so do you think that caused the problem ?
And can the gpu be damged ?

I don't know. you have tried it with the GPU taken out right? old hardware like this is sometimes kinda random, and I am not experienced enough to tell you exactly how bad it is. the PSU may have shorted the entire system, but it could also be that only the PSU is dead and the rest is fine.
