CPU or RAM?

Go to solution Solved by LeDude,

I solved it.

My ram sticks are running at 1366 mhz, and my cpu is running at a stable 4.6 ghz with 65oC max temp after AIDA EXREME stresstest for and hour.

Hello,

I have 2x Kingston HyperX Gen DDR3-1866 4 GB (running at 1866) but because of that my cpu can only run at 4.2 ghz, would it be worth it to just underclock them to standard (1366 mhz) to get my cpu to run at 4.6 ghz?

Specs:

Video Card: Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics (8gb) (Clocked speed is 1290 mhz with memory on 2000)
Processor: AMD FX(tm)-8150 Eight-Core Processor (4.2 ghz 1.92 voltage)
Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
RAM: 2x Kingston HyperX Gen DDR3-1866 4 GB (Both are running at 1866)

Edit: I play CSGO, Overwatch, Black Desert Online and games alike :)

What do you do actually? If it isn't something specifically memory intensive, you'd much better get performance out of the CPU increase.

Try running some games and see what does better. The games you play may be more memory limited or not.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.
