if you have lga 1151 right now then you're going to  need to tell us do you have H/Z series, and either 100 or 200 series.

best perf/$ is a pentium, but thats for REALLY BUDGET

you should opt for something along the lines of an i5 7500 if you have anything better than a 750ti, and a 7600k if you have maybe a 1070, and a maybe 7700k if you have a 1080/1080ti

if you have H, dont buy K as you cant overclock. If you have 100 series, and dont have an existing CPU, buy skylake and not kaby lake (as the bios is probably not updated and it wont support kaby lake, or boot up at all)

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

I'm not sure what alot of this means as I am new to computers and I have no problem spending the cash for an I7 I just want to get the correct one for my system. And I will do my best to find all my specs after work

your motherboard has a chipset that communicates with the CPU and the rest of the system. It is either H170 or Z170 most likely. The difference is that Z170 can overclock and H170 cant.

Find out which chipset you have. Then, buy either a 7700k or a 7700 (7700k if you have Z170, 7700 if you have H170. K signifies that it can overclock. Even if you have a 7700k in H170, you can't overclock)

Before you put the CPU in your system, make sure you do a bios update with your G4400.

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Random question. I've had this lingering in my head for a while but never made a thread about it. If 100-series motherboards don't generally support Kaby Lake out of the box, do 200-series motherboards support Skylake out of the box?

I have figured it out it's a h110m and it says It does not support overclocking.

Alright. The best you should go is for an i7 7700, as you cannot overclock.

Before you buy it however, you will need to update your bios to the latest version, as it won't support any 7th generation processors without the update
