I will be watching comparisons and stuff but thought Id get some opinions here first on which to get. Right now im leaning towards the 6s plus just because it has a headphone jack

not being able to customize it at all (Without jailbreak)

Thing is I dont mind using a phone as is. As long as I can watch youtube, play certain apps, etc. I don't need to mod the phone. I just want something with a large screen and good battery life

I assume the 7s wont have a headphone jack either right? Would it really not be worth getting the 6s plus?

yeah, if you really wanted a headphone jack then you need to get android or live the dongle life.

7s is going to be much better than 6s, because it's an 's' iteration. S iterations always got the big stuff on the iPhone side

3G vs 3GS, one is on iOS 4.2.1 and the other is on iOS 6.1.3, and actually usuable.

4 vs 4S, one is on 7.1.2 and a single core CPU and only HSPA, and the other is on 9.3.5, dual core, and has Siri

5 vs 5S, one doesn't have TouchID, 64bit, or a MUCH faster CPU

6 vs 6s, one doesn't have TouchID Gen 2 and a MUCH faster CPU, or 3D Touch (something I still use..)

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Apple is always on their high horse and won't admit to stupid design. 7S probably won't have a headphone jack as well.

If I were to get an android, which phones would you recommend. A samsung S8?

S8 line or wait for pixel 2.

but is long battery life that important anymore with decent power banks now out on the market? I mean I'd prefer slightly thicker phones for better battery life and thermal control but battery life isn't much of an issue IMHO.

I know there's international versions of the S line that should be unlocked. Don't know if you can get them on carriers there or if you need to pay samsung up front for the device however. They do exist though.

I'd avoid the S8 because its simply not built to last. It won't survive falls unless you give it a case that defeats the design. And battery capacity is lackluster for whatever use case justification you may come up with to buy such an expensive device, especially at the resolution its running.

Thats a good point. I have had my phone for several years now and not dropped it a single time but I still dont want to take that risk. I have been searching for a phone all day now and cannot seem to find the best option. I would wait for the newer phones to be released but my phone is basically a brick atm losing 100% battery in like 2-3 hours of medium use.
