That's what I don't understand. How can direct from somewhere like Amazon be £50+ with a totally legit copy from kinguin only being about £10-20??

Bow down to me humans.

I can't help if you don't quote me. How am I supposed to know if you need my premium support? Now starting at £399.99 a year.

Also, be a sport and mark the correct answer as the correct answer. It will help pour souls in the future when they are stuck and need guidance.

it's probably not totally legit, more like a grey area of reselling licenses.. i've bought a couple of games from similar sites selling games dirt cheap, they have all worked, but when the key i get is a cropped photo of the code as it appears f.i. on the manual etc.. not sure how it works with windows licenses though, but i wouldnt be surprised to see it was just a photo of the sticker with the key on it..

Have you tried to perform a sudden temporary interrupt of the electricity flow to your computational device followed by a re-initialization procedure of the central processing unit and associated components?

I think it's a bit less grey than that. I do remember it was recommended by Paul's Hardware about a year or two ago.

i'm just basing it on my experience with buying game keys, many of the same sites sell windows licenses REALLY cheap, however i have a VL key on my systems so i don't have to buy keys for my systems

with the games i know i'm taking a risk that A: the keys doesn't work (you can sometimes pay a small fee for a warranty that the key works, but i only used it once for a game that cost over $30 usd (was around $50+ on steam)
all other keys have worked fine too, but i can't help glancing over the thought that the keys may be stolen by an employee at a store or something.. you don't really know.. i haven't read the article, but did it say anything about the legality or origin of the keys? or just that it was a good deal?

Anyone can type a key and in the process maybe give a false sense of security (especially vs a photo of the key)

i'm not saying don't do it or anything, but i am curious how this whole thing works, i mean why would someone would sell AAA titles at launch for less than what you could preorder or buy it for if you didn't get it suspiciously cheap or even free somehow?

If the website is based in Hong Kong or china and selling for 80% less use your head. No retailer has such great margins they can knock 80% off. They get away with it because over there they don't give a shit for piracy. A key is not a license so it is not a legal grey area, it is illegal.
