hmm, i know, download intel xtu, you can manually overclock your cpu in there and you can also test your cpu, if it doesnt run at 4.5ghz in there, then youve either not done it properly or your cpu is bugged.

are you looking at your clock speeds in task manager?

I overclocked my CPU to 4.5Ghz and as far as I can see everything it stable. When I run prime95 though, my clockspeed goes down to 3.7 or 3.8Ghz despite the temperatures never rising above 55 C. When I play games, the clockspeed stays at 4.5Ghz as does it in basically every other application (Cinebench etc). Anyone know why prime95 is only achieving 3.8Ghz?

Why does it run at 4.5 Ghz when I play games though? I will try intel xtu.

not a clue mate, could just be false readings etc.

Tried Intel XTU now and it reports 4.5 Ghz. Guess it's just not reading properly. I've used both Open Hardware Monitor and CPU-Z to monitor clock speeds.
