Hello, i have recently been experiencing some issues and was wondering if you could tell me if you think its my HDD dying. so, i havent heard any odd noises or had any disappearing files, but what i have had is one corrupt game install after another. Whether downloaded or installed off a disk i have to try atleast 3-4 times 90% of the time before i dont receive a "corrupt install" Most of these seem to have something about the destination file. Any ideas?

Make sure you have everything backed up. It does sound like the hard drive. Most drive manufacturers have software that will test their drives. Check the support section of the web site for your drive.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Assuming you're on Windows, I've heard good things about Crystaldiskinfo for

diagnosing HDD problems (though I haven't used it myself since I'm using a

different OS).

As a side note, old age is the #1 killer of HDDs, so if your drive is old,

that's definitely a possibility.

EDIT: HDTune also seems to be popular.
