Hello, so my friends computer broke so I wanna build him a computer with my old parts + some new ones... I currently have a gtx 770 a 600w psu and a case.. I can't decide what's a good CPU that is for a budget build like this any ideas?

he doesn't care about how well a game works and doesn't play many graphic intensive games, the laptop he had could barely run anything so anything would be better c;

Specs: Intel i7-4790k | Corsair H60 | Asrock Z97 Pro4 | 4x4g Corsair Vengeance | Gigabyte g1 970 | Sandisk u110 128GB SSD | 1TB Toshiba Hard Drive | Corsair RM750 | Corsair Air 540 4 Corsair AF120 LED Purple 2 Corsair AF140 LED Purple

how much can you spend on the CPU?

the cheapest possible option that makes any sense is probably the pentium G4560 ... if the budget allows a bit more i would say R5.

i would not bother with i3 and i5 except if you can get a good deal on a used CPU

Would g4560 be able to run games decently

it should run most games decently except the very CPU demanding ones.

i just upgraded my brothers PC from an i3 3220 to a g4560 and performance increased noticeably.

if my brother is not too busy gaming this weekend (who am i kidding, he will be) maybe i get the time to stuff my 1050 ti into his new PC and run some more benchmarks just for the fun of it.

do you know wich games your friend will be playing so i can benchmark those (if i have them) and come back with some hard numbers ?
